- 3. Who We Are We help children realize their potential and build their futures. We nurture children and strengthen communities. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. And we couldn’t do any of it without you. As a member of the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through 14 (once matched the match can continue until the child turns 18). Program encompasses Benton, Morrison, Stearns, the northern tier of Wright & Sherburne Counties.

Play sports together. Go on a hike. Read books. Eat a pizza with extra anchovies. Or just give some advice and inspiration. Whatever it is you enjoy, odds are you’ll enjoy it even more with your Little—and you’ll be making a life-changing impact. The Match Support Coordinator’s job is to support and guide participants throughout the match. The goal of every “Big” is simply to be a friend.

- 8. Highlights of 2010-2011 The annual Magic Moments Ball was a sensational success. The event sold out with 425 guests in attendance 285 individuals raised pledges and bowled in our annual fall fundraiser B o wl For Kids’ Sake 31 teams participated in our 5 th annual Golf Tournament 5 students received the Annexstad Scholarship this past year, raising the total number of recipients from our agency to 24

What the Littles are saying… Some responses from Littles when asked what Bigs taught them: “ H o w to treat other people good and help them with their problems” “ T o be respectful and to like who you are, to believe in yourself, and keep a strong heart” “ T h e importance of grades ” “ T o enjoy who we are and to enjoy life ” “ T o be more responsible ” “ J u st to be friends with everyone and stay out of drama. There’s a lot of choices in life ” “ S h e’s going to college. That is really important. I’ve been thinking about college ”
