ELECTRO MECHANICAL CENTER STAND AND SENSOR
INTEGRATED SIDE STAND FOR TWO-WHEELER
ABSTRACT
 The project targets the design and development of a Electro
Mechanical Center Stand and Sensor Integrated Side Stand that
can be installed in an automobile.
 This project will replace the traditional center stand to reduce the
effort while applying center stand.
 Automated side stand will prevent accident caused because of
negligence.
INTRODUCTION
A center stand is a device on a bicycle or motorcycle that
allows the bike to be kept upright without leaning against
another object or the aid of a person.
Modification in our project of automated center stand is
use of mechanical actuator for operating center stand by
connecting battery and switches.
Now a day’s placing a center stand while parking on the
uneven road is difficult and risky, to overcome his problem
we are using some mechanical actuator.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
 On surveying, it was found that around 70% males and 30% females drive
motorcycle. Among those 70% males, around 30% are oldies and remaining
are adults.[1] Most of the females and old people observe that it is very
difficult to apply centre stand and hence this made us develop and make it
automated. Moreover, applying a side stand;
 More parking area is consumed if we use side stand instead of center stand
 May cause back and/or leg injuries mainly for older people
 Because of people forget to take the side stand-off while riding, accidents
may happen
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
BMW K1200LT
 Present their technology is used by BMW in their bike K1200LT
.
 But the centre stand they are using is more cost which is
around 1lac.
 so according to our idea the cost can be reduced by 10 times by
replacing the hydraulic actuator with mechanical actuator.
PARAMETERS CONSIDERED
 The place of instalment of centre stand and side stand
should be considered according to the ground clearance of
the bike
 Place where the electronic components should be installed
(like battery actuator etc)
 Weight of the bike (max 200kgs)
