Pervasive Computing?
 Pervasive computing is a new dimension of personal
computing that integrates mobile communication,
ubiquitous embedded computer systems, consumer
electronics and the power of the Internet.
 Pervasive Computing (also called Ubiquitous
computing. It is the growing trend towards embedding
microprocessors
 The word Pervasive and Ubiquitous means “ existing
everywhere” It spreads intelligence and connectivity
to more or less everything

Differences between Ubiquitous and
Pervasive computing
Ubiquitous Computing
 It means everywhere
 User and application driven
 Involves use computer at all
Pervasive computing
 Means “ diffused throughout
every part of”
 More technology driven
 Involves devices like handhelds
devices, notebook, palmtop,
etc.
