China is advancing rapidly in high-speed rail development, aiming to create a vast internal network to rival the growth achieved by the U.S. through its transportation innovations. However, while there are potential benefits such as economic growth and tourism increase, challenges like environmental issues and impacts on existing transport services remain significant concerns.
