The learners are a group of 15 visually impaired students from Russia. The objective is for the students to understand what the Fourth of July is and popular activities associated with it through hands-on activities targeting their four senses over the course of a week. On different days, students will touch felt materials to make an American flag, listen to a YouTube video of fireworks, smell a cooled firework, and taste traditional Fourth of July cookout foods. Evaluating each activity will allow the instructor to monitor student understanding and revise lessons as needed.
