Secure Cyberspace Background
-More internet use = More internet attacks
- Cybercrime damages are almost 6 Trillion dollars per year
- Cyber attacks are a dangerous threat to homeland security and the average
American
3.
Problem Statement
- Securitythreats against online data are increasing.
- One area of concern is protecting individual’s personal data.
- OUR PLAN:
- Increase security on account logins to prevent hacking.
- Zero trust networks - Multi-factor authentications.
4.
Approach
- We wantour solution to be economically accessible to all of the public
and not just a select few
- Therefore we want our solution to keep costs down in order to sell at a
lower price or even free!
5.
Objective
- Learn andadapt our knowledge to create a solution regarding current
data breaches.
6.
Design Requirements
Must Haves:
a)A way to provide substantial improvements in data security.
b) Solution must be easily accessible to the public.
Would be Nice:
c) Solution is non-complex, easy to understand.
d) A solution that maintains its presence for long periods of time.
Compromises:
e) None of us have previous experience in this topic, so we will be diving in blind.
f) We are limited by previously existing methods of ensuring security.
7.
Overview of Actions
-Our plan is to research security options that are sustainable, cost-
effective and accessible to the general population.
- We will research potential solutions such as Zero Trust networks, multi-
factor authentication, and general cybersecurity education.
