ESL Song - "She's Tall" Describing People
I will perform a warm-up activity to engage my students, my students like music, I consider music is an
extraordinary motivator for any class, so I'm going to play a song to get all the energy out of my
students. Students will sing and dance the song with me. The song introduces vocabulary about the
physical appearance of people.
2. Activate student´s schemata (5 min)
- I will show students my family photo and I will present to my
students my family members.
- I will ask students to say any words they know to describe
people on the photo (The way that someone looks and
characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving).
- I´ll give some examples if needed:
He is tall, He is serious, He is polite, He has short hair.
She is young, she is funny, she is friendly. She has Brown eyes
Baby girl is short, She is happy, she has black hair,
She seems smart, shy, extrovert.

How to play: Each player takes a turn by turning two
cards over (word car and a picture card). If the cards
match, then the player picks up the cards and keeps
them. If they don't match, the player turns the cards back
over.
- I´ll have some new vocabulary.
- I´ll explain that there are two kinds of adjectives for
describing people, those that refer to appearance, and
those that refer to personality.
