Over few decades, the development of technology has been significant especially in the
mobile technologies such as mobile phone and personal computer. Due to that, the
world has been getting closer and closer in terms of communication. In other words,
people can interact with each other regardless of no matter where and when they are. At
the same time, it brought negative change to society, that is people have got busier
(Brawn, 2014). This paper will present the concept of my business that helps busy
people in terms of shopping. Firstly, it will explain the concept with using some
multimedia material, then providing summary of what I learned from elevator pitch and,
finally, show the improvement of my idea while looking at summary of feedback given
on Crowdfund.
Marc Jacobs said, "clothing is a form of self-expression - there are hints about who you
are in what you wear" (Ramsdale, 2016, p. 1). People have the right of choice what they
really want to wear and enjoy their own fashion regardless of where and when they are.
The idea of this business is based on this statement. In other words, although people are
getting busier, they must not cut their private time especially for shopping of clothing to
make up for working. However, it would be difficult for people to do so, even though
they would like to. Therefore, this business can be introduced as the website, which
helps them to purchase clothes in dramatic and efficient way in stead of making them
rush to shops or mall at limited time. The website is called “About the Fit” (Image 1).
This website can bring the enjoyment of online clothes shopping to the customers while
being relax at home.

Basically, customers need to go through some steps to start shopping for clothes on this
website. First of all, they need to do registration, which is free. When customers sigh up
on this website, they would be required to fill with their physical data such as height,
size of neck, chest, waist, and arm (Image 2). This is because the website can create an
avatar for each customers and also introduce recommendations to them smoothly when
they ask.

Once customers create your own model, customers can start shopping while putting the
clothes that they are interested in on the avatar in the website and can see how it would
be like when they wear that clothes in real world. When customers are choosing the
cloths, you can also identify how much each clothes cost (Image 3). Customers can
build your own wardrobe before they buy. Therefore, they no longer waste time for
going around and ask retailers for cloths that they look for on whole weekend and
money for the clothes they thought suit them but actually not. According to Fashion
Retail report in 2014, 69% of customers feel annoyed when they search for the fight
item from a number of clothes. Moreover, 68% of customers expect retailers to
introduce fashion that is associated with them.
(Image 3)
The purpose of this website is building the bridge between clothes and customers.
Therefore, About the Fit deals with clothes from big companies to individual sellers as
long as clothes can be sold on the website.

In the elevator pitch, it was required to present each concept of business within one
minute. There are three feedbacks that were found beneficial through presenting in the
elevator pitch. First important aspect of presenting the idea within short period is using
a narrative way to pull the attention of audience. For example, “Have you ever
experienced a trouble something like this? I know this is so bothering” or “I am not
asking you to invest on my business, I am asking you to invest on yourself” These
narrative way got audiences involved in conversation and therefore their interests could
be increased. Secondly, audience can invest on not idea itself but on presenters who
introduce their ideas. In other wards, audience can pay attention more to how presenters
demonstrate their idea not what they do. For instance, some presenters expressed their
idea in monotone voice without face expression. Other presenters, on the contrary,
introduce their idea vividly and ambitiously with a lively smile. Latters seemed to get
more attention from audience. Finally, trusting too much on visual aids can be difficult
to enhance the interests of audience. As the matter of fact, I spent full time for
presenting my idea on showing a video, which brought two negative impacts on my
presentation consequently. First one is that although doing in my way had been found
not suitable for the presentation before doing, I could not change that way flexibly
because I did not prepare for that. The other is that audience found bored and even
bothered watching video since they have already listened to many presentations before
my turn.
In the questions given to my concept in Crowdfund consisted of two main aspects:
which companies or shops would About the Fit cooperate with and how can customers
purchase products through this website. Also their feedback shows that they are fund of
the concept of my idea. However at the same time, they ask to consider more deeply in
terms of how to sell and how to deal with customers in real business terms. Their
advices are very helpful as they provide many examples that I did not know, which gave

me new insight. My responds to their feedbacks end up with explain about my idea
deeply. Respond to the first question mentioned above is that I would like to cooperate
with high demanding companies that do not necessarily mean big companies. This is
because I would like as much customers as possible to use my website to fine what
really want to wear. The other respond is that About the Fit will show the links to
official websites and how much it would cost totally (delivery fee plus total cost of
clothes) on the final process of purchasing. It would look like the way as Amazon does.
