This document defines and provides examples of different types of conjunctions. There are three main types: coordinating conjunctions like "and", "but", and "or" that join similar grammatical elements; subordinating conjunctions like "because", "since", and "although" that connect an independent clause to a dependent clause; and correlative conjunctions like "either/or", "neither/nor", and "not only/but also" that come in pairs to relate elements in a sentence. Common conjunctions are used to join words, phrases, clauses, and sentences.
