The Temple of Heaven in Beijing, China was constructed between 1406 and 1420 and has since undergone several renovations and periods of damage and restoration. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests at the center of the complex is a triple-gabled circular building that is 32 meters in diameter, 38 meters tall, and constructed entirely of wood without nails. It has three levels of marble stone bases and a splendid circular caisson ceiling with dragons and phoenixes, and was used for imperial ceremonies and prayers related to harvests.
