- 2. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world “ -Nelson Mandela In India we have 7,59,686 primary schools but still the status of primary education is a major concern . -In 2012 nationally, 53.2 % of all children enrolled in Std. V could not read a Std. II level text. -In 2012 nationally, 61.3% of all children enrolled in Std. III could not read a Std. Educational Structure Educational System can be broadly divided into four aspects Teachers •As on 2009 we had 23,96,823 primary school teachers including part-time teachers. •Minimum Qualification - senior secondary with at least 50 % and a 2 year diploma in elementary education . Students • As on 2009 we had 12,79,61,250 students in primary schools • Boys to girls ratio of 10:9 (Approx) Environment • As of 2012 , we had only 73 % schools with proper drinking water, 56.5 % schools with usable toilets and 73 % schools with playgrounds Mode of Education •As of 2009 we had 7,59,686 primary schools with an increase of 16.68 % over 2005 The state of primary education can be improved by individually concentrating and improving the four core structural elements of education system.

Continuous Evaluation Process: Monthly assessments Promoting Group Activities Encouraging innovation and creativity in their limit Recognizing and appreciating the performing students Engaging Parents for the betterment of students

Engaging Teachers- Variable Pay Scale Salient features of the Performance Evaluation Scheme. • Giving incentives to the teachers above the basic pay based on performance evaluation • All the schools in the district will be divided among a group of Educational officers • The Software will send the name of the school to be visited by respective EO one night in advance •Educational Officer(EO) •Visits Schools selected by the software •EO evaluates the performance of the teachers •EO uploads the evaluated sheets into the database by the end of the day Basis of Evaluation Techniques used by the teachers Interested Generated amongst students Schools Classified into zones like urban, semi urban and rural EO evaluates the teachers on a relative basis in the respective zone Incentives will be given on the basis of relative performance. Improving the Mode of Education Common National Education Board and Same medium of education all over India - This is necessary to make the children of migrating workers to cope up with education . Better Environment for Education EO inspects the available facilities at the school The best practices followed, deficiencies and budget usage in the school are recorded Incentives will be given on the basis of relative performance - All the schools should be certified with the required facilities as per Right To Education Act. - Educational Material should be provided well in time to all the students. -Models like Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) should be extended to schools to improve the sanitation facilities. -Exclusive transport facilities should be provided to the students who stay far from schools instead of providing incentivizing the students in this regard. Improving Mid-day Meals program : - Parents should be made aware of the idea of supervising the preparation and serving the meal . - 8. Better Budget Allocation National Level scrutiny and compilation of the budget required for better education. State Level scrutiny and compilation of the budget required. DEO scrutinize and compile the budget required for the district Each School will send budget required to the District Educational Officer -Each school will send budget required to the District Education al Officer(DEO) by filling a specific data sheet with supporting estimates from vendors and contractors. -DEO can alter the budget allocation to a particular school before sending to the state level compilation after discussing with the school official and the same discussions can be held at all levels in the hierarchy. - Budget allocation by the government can be made more structured by making schools stakeholders in budget calculation .

Involving Young India - Engaging the young India will reduce the generation Gap between the students and teachers , as lesser generation gap promotes better student teacher relationship. - Reducing the generation Gap between the students and teachers can also be achieved by bringing down the average age of the teachers by recruiting young teachers. -Government should recognize and appreciate the young Indians involved in promoting education by voluntary teaching in schools. -Government should promote socially responsible organizations in professional educational institutions like IIMs,IITs, NITs, etc. -Promoting Organizations like Teach for India and other educational NGOs Sharing Knowledge
