- 1. Evaluation What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- 2. Video Editing Software LiveType • It allows for the creation of animated text logos, and editing the text itself while having rendered an effect • iMovie • Can be used to edit video clips, add transitions and sound • Adobe After Effects • Allows for the addition of special effects to videos • Adobe Premier Pro • Similar to iMovie in that it is a video editor, it allows for more extensive editing

Recording Hardware • Pole Microphone • Records sound and allows for the use of outside sound effects or dubbing, however external hardware is required to record actual audio files • Personal Recorders • Where microphones record sound in higher quality, the personal recorders come with their own data storage and thus using the two together allows for higher quality data storage as opposed to simply using one • Handheld Video Cameras • Video cameras allow for the recording of video clips and creating files that can be used for editing – they come with various settings and being handheld, allow for many different types of shots

Online Software • Prezi • Allows for the creative display of ideas, though at times it can be quite tedious • SlideShare • Using SlideShare, it is possible to upload PowerPoint presentations to the internet for display – it became preferred to Prezi due to the fact that Prezi was quite unreliable

Software Outside of Filming • Microsoft • Word • Creation of text documents and the inclusion of pictures • PowerPoint • Presentation of ideas and thoughts – the fixed size of a presentation doesn’t allow for the depth of information that could be found in a word document • Excel • Storage of data, particularly useful when sorting through bigger lists, such as the shoot edit decision list • Adobe • Photoshop • By using Photoshop, it is possible to create a logo with impressive visuals

Evaluation Each of the technologies have different functions, and although some overlap, once skills are used more in depth, their differences become more and more apparent - for example with Premier Pro and After Effects, their basic video editing capabilities are the same, however Premier Pro is more useful in the actual editing of the composition, whereas After Effects is more useful in the editing of the individual clips.
