- 1. Executive Summary The success and development of a country depends upon the people living within. Hence, the socio-economic status of the country is measured upon a person's work experience and of an individual's or family’s economic and social position in relation to others, based on income, education, and occupation (Goode, 2008). Thus, providing an employment profile in a place is one way to solve the underlying problem of unemployment within the country. In this project, the researchers made a system that produces a GIS-Based Based for an Employment Profile. It displays the employment indicator as to Low, Medium and High level indicators for Cluster 1 barangays in Digos City. The system also displays information such as Barangay’s total population, educational attainment, type of sector, and employable age bracket. The main purpose of the study is to give a useful and informative web-based online program that is built through GIS- based map. It is also made in helping the retrieval and updating of employment records for the use of the Department of Labor and Employment and the National Statistics Office. Through this, it will create solutions as how to minimize the unemployment rate of the specific barangays in Cluster 1. In this system, it shows that the above objectives were attained through and by beta testing initiated by the researchers. This also resulted into what is expected of the system. That is to display a map of the barangays within Cluster 1 with an Employment indicator of Low, Medium and High. This also let the user aware on the employable age of every barangay
- 2. in relation to its total population. Moreso, the study shows that some of the barangays have low indicators in their employable rate since they have higher number of unemployable population. However, in order for the system to continue and give correct results, a system maintenance has to be made monthly so that the efficacy of the system be maintained and protect it from data loss. Added to this, the system’s website has to be maintained so that it will serve its purpose. Overall, this system can make way for the government to create a sustainable program on employment to ease the unemployment rate of the specified barangays.
