Introduction and Review or what has come before?
Overview At the end of this lesson you will be able to:  Choose the right technology to use for your particular training need Become familiar with new technology tools Give old tools new purpose
Learning Outcomes You will learn how to use technology in training. You will be exposed to different types of training you might not have used before. You will learn about technology as used in labs and remotely. You will plan your training with technology in mind and choose the appropriate technology to use in the training.
Why should you use technology in training? Cheaper (no travel costs/time) Often available at the learner’s convenience Formats appeal to different learning styles: Audio Visual Hands-on Written
When shouldn’t you use technology? When it doesn’t enhance the students’ learning. When the students are not receptive to technology. When technological capabilities are not available in your setting.

What is Screencasting? Creating a digital presentation using computer screens combined with narration. These presentations can be personalized by adding Narration Manipulation of screens Live interaction with screens (ie. Websites, PowerPoint presentations)
Camtasia Sample Tutorial Video (Here I will play a short sample video tutorial created using Camtasia)
Screencasting Advantages Interacting with content further involves the learner with the instructional concept. Cause and effect can be better demonstrated to the student. The screencast can be played as many times as the student needs to learn the concept.
Screencasting Advantages Screencasts can be posted on video and web sites for easy remote access. Screencasting formats are very popular with learners of different ages.
