google   is a verb Have you googled yourself lately? What does it say about you? Do you have any digital footprints yo uare proud of? What are the other people with your same name doing, will they be mistaken for being you?
I know   you Anyone can tell a great deal about you from your digital footprints.  - where you've been - where you are - who you know - where you work - what your hobbies are - what you think about certain issues and much more.
why should you  be concerned? HR departments, recruiters, universities are searching the Internet when you Interact with them.  They're looking to: a) validate what your actual resume said b) learn more about you … in a non office environment In effect, every job seeker of the future will be not unlike a political candidate. Hopefully their closets are squeaky clean, and if not, devise strategies to address it.  In essence, your digital footprint is your resume.
gen   Y Gen Y are seen as the ‘ID Generation, standing for the entitlement ‘I Deserve.’ They are seen as not being good employees because they are not reliable and that they are not going to be loyal to any employer. don’t fear   the Internet Just because you can’t cause control all information, does not mean you can’t manage it. Internet is full of opportunities, never before has people been so connected. Web 2.0 allows us to use new tools to connect to more people. We can share experiences, photos and opinions.  Keeping a professional profile online will help in social networking and job applications.
stack the deck  in your favor Whether or not negative information about you exists on the web, it's a good idea to ensure there are plenty of positive associations.  Build your own professional web page. Share your insights. Exercise discretion. Add your professional profiles to networking sites.
 
suicide by  your career Many people take on a “survival job” especially during a financial downturn to make ends meet, but ending up stuck in the position for a long time. Do you have an MBA but still working as an executive in a company that pays you half of what you are worth? Do you want a dream job but have no time to apply for it or have no time to attend courses to enhance yourself? Are you too contended with your life and routine that you feel too much inertia to move on?
a necessity for   you? I hear a lot of people complaining about their jobs on buses and trains, but few have taken action to change that. If you feel the following emotions: Your job is not challenging enough. No real personal growth in the current position. A lot of your other skills and talents are not used. Can do a better job in other positions. Get so tired after work that you cannot enjoy your social life. The least you could do is to figure out what you are good in and what you like doing. Due to advancements in social technologies, more people are connected and more companies are getting online and searching online for suitable candidates or consultants.  Top talents will receive the most visibility and everyone else will sink to the bottom.

Many recruiters are already checking the candidate’s profile online before granting an interview. Landing your dream job, you probably need recommendations and introductions, knowing more people through online networking helps.
