pinya became popular.
oIn Iloilo,
weaving

important
industry.
oPatadyong is a
wrap-around

worn by
women.
oThis type of
clothing is
often colorful
and features
linear and
geometric
designs.
oPatadyong and hablon
 are still practiced in
 Miag-ao, Iloilo.
oIn Aklan, weaving baskets,
trays, and mats is popular.
oAklanon

daily lives of the
community.
oIn Davao, women weave
abaca fibers to make a design.
oThe weavers, in time, learned
the tie-dyeing technique called

A QUICK RECALL:
o
oIn PAPER WEAVING
strips of paper are
passed over and under
each other to form a
design.
oThreads that go up and down
in vertical orientation are called
the WARP.

oThreads that go across are the
WEFT.
oWeft is woven over and under
the warp.
oThe challenge is for you
to use varying lines,
cuts, colors and number
of strips.
oRemember the more
original your designs are –
the more interesting and
creative they will be!
o
oShow us that indeed
CREATIVITY starts with
oYOU!
o o
   HAPPY
WEAVING !
