Mat 7:12 ESV "So whatever you wish that others would do to
you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Gal 6:9-10 ESV And let us not grow weary of doing good, for
in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (10) So
then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and
especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Walmart is not
the only Saving
Place
The Mission of the church must be
the same as its head:
Luke 19:10 ESV For the Son of Man
came to seek and to save the lost."
The Lord’s Supper
1Co 11:24-39 ESV and when he had given thanks, he broke it,
and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in
remembrance of me." (25) In the same way also he took the
cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my
blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
(26) For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you
proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. (27) Whoever,
therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an
unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood
of the Lord. (28) Let a person examine himself, then, and so
eat of the bread and drink of the cup. (29) For anyone who
eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks
judgment on himself.
NOT THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Head of the church
of Christ
Eph 1:15-23 ESV For this reason, because I have heard of
your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the
saints, (16) I do not cease to give thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers, (17) that the God of our
Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of
wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, (18)
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know
what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the
riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, (19) and what
is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who
believe, according to the working of his great might
Jesus Christ is the Head of the church
of Christ
Eph 1:15-23 Continued (20) that he worked in Christ when he
raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in
the heavenly places, (21) far above all rule and authority and
power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not
only in this age but also in the one to come. (22) And he put
all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things
to the church, (23) which is his body, the fullness of him
who fills all in all.
HE Built HIS Church
Matt. 16:15-18 NASB He said to them, "But who do you say
that I am?" 16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God." 17 And Jesus said to him,
"Blessed are you, Simon Barjona , because flesh and blood did
not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 "I
also say to you that you are Peter , and upon this rock I will
build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and
whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in
heaven.“ (same in Matt. 18:18)
Mat 28:18 ESV And Jesus came and said to them, "All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Col 1:13-20 ESV He has delivered us from the domain of
darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved
Son, (14) in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of
sins. (15) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
of all creation. (16) For by him all things were created, in
heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created
through him and for him. (17) And he is before all things,
and in him all things hold together. (18) And he is the head
of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn
from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
(19) For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
(20) and through him to reconcile to himself all things,
whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of
his cross.
HE Paid for HIS Church
Act 20:28 NKJV Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all
the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you
overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased
with His own blood.
Mat 26:28 ESV for this is my blood of
the covenant, which is poured out for
many for the forgiveness of sins.
1Co 6:19-20 ESV Or do you not know that your body is a
temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from
God? You are not your own, (20) for you were bought with a
price. So glorify God in your body.
Act 2:47 NKJV
praising God and
having favor with
all the people. And
the Lord added to
the church daily
those who were
being saved.
HE Cleansed HIS
ChurchEph 5:25-27 ESV Husbands,
love your wives, as Christ
loved the church and gave
himself up for her, (26) that
he might sanctify her, having
cleansed her by the washing of
water with the word, (27) so
that he might present the
church to himself in splendor,
without spot or wrinkle or any
such thing, that she might be
holy and without blemish.
1Co 12:13 ESV For in one
Spirit we were all baptized
into one body--Jews or
Greeks, slaves or free--and
all were made to drink of
one Spirit.
HE Cleansed HIS
ChurchAct 22:16 ESV And now why do you
wait? Rise and be baptized and wash
away your sins, calling on his name.'
HE Cleansed HIS
Church2Ki 5:10-13 ESV And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying,
"Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall
be restored, and you shall be clean." (11) But Naaman was
angry and went away, saying, "Behold, I thought that he would
surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the
LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the
leper. (12) Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of
Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not
wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a
rage. (13) But his servants came near and said to him, "My
father, it is a great word the prophet has spoken to you; will
you not do it? Has he actually said to you, 'Wash, and be
clean'?"
