You will need a
Google Account
to use
Google Drive

So if you don’t have a
Google account,

this is the place for you to get
one.

Go to google.com

Or click Gmail on the upper right
corner
, click the sign-in button

And it takes you to this screen

Enter your email address

Then click Next

If you don’t have a Gmail account, click
Create Account

Then enter your Name

Choose your Username

Create a Password

Confirm your Password

Enter your Birthday

Enter your Gender

Enter your Mobile Number

Enter your current email address

Prove that you’re not a Robot, type
the Text

Enter your Location

Check the box to agree to the
Terms and Conditions

Then click Next Step to create your
account

Then go to drive.google.com on
your Search Bar

Or you can start from your
Gmail Account

After you have signed in to your
Gmail Account

Click on the Google Apps
symbol on the right

Then select Drive

Click Got it

And it loads up my Google
Drive User Interface

With the list of Documents I’ve
created

Including presentations,
spreadsheets, word docs,
pictures, other things that have
been uploaded to my Google
Drive

The First Reason to use
Google Drive is to
Back-up your Files

You can do that by

Clicking on the My Drive dropdown

To create a New Folder

Upload a File

Or Upload a Folder

You can also Drag and Drop items
from your Desktop

Into your Drive

Make sure you create these files in
the Specific Folder

And you can access Files
wherever you are

You can put them in your
computer,

Login to Google

download them,
change them

and do whatever you need to
do.

The Second Reason you can
use Google Drive is

you can use it to
Create Things

If you click on the
Red New Button

There’s a lot of Different
Documents that you can create

A Word style Document, click on it

And this Word style Document
opens

Click Google Sheets

to create a Spreadsheet similar to
Excel

Click on Google Slides

Which opens to a Powerpoint type
Presentation

You can also click
Google Forms

To create Google Forms

You can also click
Google Drawings

To make Drawings online

Click Google My Maps

To add Places

You can also Connect more Apps

And this window opens

With different Apps you can add
to your Google account

To create things directly from
your Google account

Like the Lucidchart Diagram
Lucidchart Diagram App

And create
Lucidchart Diagrams
right from Google Drive

Lets go back to Google Slides and
click on it

As an example of what you can do
on Google Drive

And it brings up a list of different
Themes
An example of what you can
create in Google Drive

Themes that you can choose from

Select a Theme

Then click Ok

Then it loads up and applies it to
the presentation

This is similar to Powerpoint

You can Right click on the first
slide

And click New Slide

to create a new slide

You can also use this + sign to
create another slide

Or click on the dropdown

to add different slides

Click Insert

to add text boxes, images,
hyperlinks, videos, word outlines

If you select Text

You can go up to Insert

And click Animations

And you can apply Animation to
the text

So it can Fade-in or Zoom in or fly
in

When it’s Clicked

Or you can have it after a previous
animation

Click Insert

Then click Image

Click Choose Image to Upload
button

Click insert Video

It lets you search YouTube for
YouTube Video

Then Select the Video you want to
add

Then click Add

To your Google presentation

So that’s one of the nice Benefits
of Google Drive
