- 2. Love What are some popular love songs? What are some things the Bible tells us about love? Share some ways other Christians have shown love to you.

Love God What is the “greatest commandment?” Mk 12 30-31 “heart, soul, mind, strength” “ Agapao” very deep love “ heart” our deep, inner passions “ soul” our eternal being “ mind” our decisions “ strength” our actions Love God with everything you’ve got. - 4. Love God 2 Major traps in loving God: Legalism & Liberalism When have we loved God enough? Mt 16:24, 25 Which is more spiritual, to read the Bible or take a walk with your spouse? James 4:17 “In the same way, faith, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead!” Our love for God should flow out of our relationship with Him on daily basis.

Love Others The 2 nd Greatest Commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself” 10 Commandments: 1 You shall have no other gods before me, 2 No idols, 3 You shall not misuse the name of the Lord, 4 Remember the Sabbath & keep it Holy , 5 Honor your mother & father, 6 Do not murder, 7 Do not commit adultery, 8 Do not steal, 9 Do not lie, 10 Do not covet. (Ex 20) Love God & Love People
- 6. Love Christians I Jn 1:7-12 Verse 9 God not only loved us, he put His love into action which teaches us that if we love others, our actions should show it. Vs 12 “but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” This is usually not difficult, love other Christians.
- 7. Loving Non-Christians Why should we love the unsaved? Reason #1: We used to be “the unsaved.” Reason #2: Command Romans 13:8-10 Christ loved us before we loved Him and now that we’re saved, we need to pass this love onto others.
- 8. iTruth #2 iTruth #1: God is the source of all real truth. iTruth #2: God is love: We must love God & love others. Love God Love People Love is an action
- 9. Small Group Discussion Who do you have the most trouble loving (God, fellow Christians, the unsaved) & why? How can we love “our neighbor” as ourself? Take the concept of James 4 “faith without works is dead” and the truth that we are to love God & love people and share how you are doing at putting your faith into action by loving God and people.
