When it comes to your IT infrastructure, time is money and downtime
is expensive, so it pays to have the right level of service in place. All new
IBM equipment is automatically provided with a base warranty service
level (varies by product).
However, your organisation may require an additional layer of support
in line with your business and operational requirements. For instance,
you may need 24×7, same-business-day support to cover weekends, or a
4 hour committed fix time, to meet your uptime policy.
IBM Warranty Service Upgrade (WSU) is a flexible service that is
designed to provide additional support options on top of the base
warranty.
Simple, affordable and flexible
Upgrading is easy and can be done at any time. WSU takes the base
warranty up to the service level of your choice in a cost-effective way.

IBM Technical Support Services
Replacing parts
As part of your base warranty, you may be required to replace parts
deemed ‘customer replaceable’. Included with a WSU, you have the
option to have an IBM engineer replace those parts for you. WSU
charges are in place to cover the delivery of the higher than base
warranty service level.
Adding WSU
Purchasing a WSU is very straightforward. Simply contact your IBM
representative or IBM Business Partner to discuss your organisation’s
specific warranty service level requirements. Your IBM contact will
work with you to identify the optimum level of support to meet your
business needs and make all the necessary arrangements to upgrade
your service. WSU can be implemented at any stage during the
warranty period and works on a standard IBM agreement.
