Food Waste Essay
Food Waste Position/Proposal
By Natalie Parisi
An Introduction to the Problem
Food waste is something that affects us all. It happens anywhere food has a presence; the grocery
store, restaurants, in our homes, at schools, on farms, in production and even in transportation. It
affects people everywhere; those living oceans away and those that share our boarders, people living
across America and throughout Utah, businesses and households alike.
Being Aware is a Personal Responsibility
So is the problem food waste itself, or that food is being thrown out when there are alternative
options? Or is it that we just don't stop to consider there is a problem? My concern is that it's not a
priority for most people. In addition, there are...show more content...

Claiming Ownership
In our homes waste caused because we don't pay attention; we are inattentive and ignorant. For some
of us, it just isn't important. (Jones, Dive!)
Wasting food is a bad habit that affects all of society and we continue to implicate ourselves in
the problem. Of the total of food loss that is going on about 40 percent is in the household. Overall a
typical household of four loses about 600 dollars in food a year. (Jones 11)
Like many things, we just don't bother or we don't feel that we have the time. We aren't realizing
how much it affects each of us. Have you ever taken the time to stop and think about it?
Thinking about it, I realize that every day I throw something away that could be saved and eaten
later. When I take the trash out there are a number of food items that don't need to be there. After
we finish dinner I am wiping food off of plates and realizing that I've made too much. Every time I
clean out the fridge there is food going into the garbage because I waited too long to use it.
Whatever the reason, I realize that it does affect me in many ways and it's constantly happening in
my home.
Looking at the Impacts of Food Waste
Food Waste affects our pocket book because we are essentially throwing out money. At the same
time it is impacting us financially it's also playing a huge role in the problems we see happening to
our environment.

Essay on Justice
Essay on Justice
'Justice is such an elusive concept that it hardly seems worthwhile for a legal system to strive to
achieve it'.
Justice is something that we all want from a Law and believe should be an integral part in any legal
system. However, the meaning of Justice is very difficult to define. There are many aspects of justice
that we may question about; i.e. is a particular law just? Is the legal system just? Much of the issue
of justice is very controversial and raises questions such as whether the combination of Law and
system produce a just result? Justice has a definition as follows: 'The quality of being just or fair,
the act of determining rights and assigning rewards or...show more content...
The logical extension of this view is that the Legal rules of a country can be broken if they do not
conform to moral Laws, a view that was favoured by St. Thomas Aquinas. This theory of Natural
Law can be contrasted with Positivism. Natural lawyers conflict with positivist thinkers who
believe that if the Law is made according to correct procedure, then it should be followed however
much it conflicts with morality. Positivists like Kelsen argue that Law and morality are entirely
separate concepts, and believes that justice is abstract, therefore it is has no concept in Law.
Kelsen also argued that the concept of justice is too vague to be defined and that even if law is
immoral, it still should be followed. Austin's view stems from the positivist argument that Law is
Law because of sovereignty and procedures. Professor Hart also considers law and morality to be
separate. He believed that Law should be based on logical ideas that produce correct decisions
from the rules. Durkheim, a sociologist, took the view that society is held together 'a cohesion' and
that the Law is an integral part of making these structures work. Kelsen's theory can be contrasted
to LL Fuller who favours the natural Law theory. Fuller took the example of the Nazi Law and
condemned with their Legal system. He argued that Nazi Law was not Law at all as it was so
fundamentally unjust.

Essay about Prejudice
Missing Formatting
In today's world, there are many social issues, like poverty, vandalism and unemployment.
However, prejudice has become the most dramatic one. Prejudging people for their appearance is a
common practice that humans perform. People are not only ridiculed for their color, but also by
their religion, sex or age. Therefore, I consider that racism, ageism and sexism are the three major
problems in our society and we need to cease them immediately. Much of our world's history were
based upon racism. In the 1600's, white men used Africans as slaves and treated them as they were
not human. "Colored" people were not even allowed to use the same drinking fountains as white
people. Fortunately, in the last three decades, race...show more content...
The most popular watched sport in America, NBA basketball, is played by over 87% of the
African decent. Nevertheless, racism is still a issue that will never completely go away. Ageism
is also a worrying problem in our society. Though many people think that this is not a serious
problem, people are being harassed about their age everyday, whether they are "too young" or
"too old". I have dealt with this problem myself, as many other teenagers have. When I walk into
some stores, I am asked to leave my purse at the counter and I am often followed around by
employees. They watch every move I make to make sure that I will not steal anything. I know that
theft is a dilemma that many businesses have to deal with , but when it gets to the point of being
untrusted due to your age, it is completely ridiculous and inappropriate. Men and women have
never been equal in the world and that is what we call sexism. For example, if a man and a woman
who have the same knowledge ask for the same job, the boss will probably pick the man. Even
though they both get the job, the man will maybe have a better salary than the woman. People
always believe that men work better than women but no one can give a satisfying explication to
support that thought. Fortunately, sexism is decreasing constantly but it will never diminish to the
point of complete equality. We can never judge someone by their
