Water :-
Water is an important part of CSD beverages. Typically, water comes from municipal
sources, underground wells, or surface sources, and is further purified on-site. The
main ingredient of beverage is water and thus it has to be safe and purified from all
the contaminants.
It is prime duty of the organization to check the quality parameters of water before
hand and then make it available for the consumption.
Purification of water can be conducted through many ways .Because the ultimate
goal is to make water free from undesirable physical, chemical, and biological
contaminants.

Granulated Sugar
After water, sugar plays an important role for imparting the correct taste to the
beverage .The main reason to add it is to have a sweet taste to the beverage and
make it distinctive .
Storage of the sugar must be at 10°C to 30°C. The relative humidity to be
less than 60%, In humid areas, use heat or air conditioning to control humidity and
temperature changes.
All granulated sugars are purchased from PepsiCo approved vendors and that
vendor must follow the PepsiCo quality guidelines for testing of sugars. Some of
our approved are:- (a) Simbhaoli Sugars, (b) Indian Potash ( Titawi),
(c) Dalmia, (d) Uttam Sugar, (e) DCM sugar, (f) Triveni , etc.
Amity Institute of Biotechnology
Carbon dioxide
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a heavy colorless gas used in the carbonation of
beverages. CO2 is heavier than air and will move downward, accumulating and
displacing air in low or confined areas.
When CO2 is dissolved in water it combines with a water molecule to form
carbonic acid - H2CO3. As long as this drink is under pressure, the CO2 stays
dissolved. When the pressure is released, some of the CO2 escapes as fizz, or
bubble. Thus carbon dioxide is primarily employed for carbonation purpose.
 Carbon Dioxide is also purchased from PepsiCo approved vendors and they must
follow PepsiCo quality parameters. Some of approved vendors are:- (a) Punjab
Fusion, (b) Punjab Carbonic, (c) BIG Carbonic.
Amity Institute of Biotechnology
Concentrates
These mean the blend of flavors, colors, acids, and nutrients. It is important to
blend the above in proper ratio and amount otherwise the desired beverage will
not be obtained.
This concentrate is provided by PepsiCo only.
