- 2. The cheetah is the fastest animal on land. It can reach the speed of 100 km per hour in only two seconds. It only trusts its speed to hunt and survives on the hard climate of the savannah, without water and with a lot of hot sun.
- 3. It has got a very athletic body. Its skin is covered with a light yellow colour and black points, very typical in the cats' hair. It has got very big claws, but it can't hide them in it's fingers. It can run fast, but only in a minute or two, not for lots of time.
- 4. When a couple has got kittens, only the mother looks after the kittens, and only she fights and hunts to protect them. When the kittens become adults, they go to live alone. The cubs have got a lot of hair on theirs head when they are babies. They have just a few black points in their smooth light hair.
- 5. Life is hard for them. There is just a little water in the savannah, and they have to fight to get water and food. They are the fastest animal in the savannah, but not the strongest; lions are the strongest animal and they live in families with more members, and they often kill cheetahs to get more zebras, anthelopes and gazelles, their favourite food.
- 6. They are brave animals. The cheetah mother hunts for her cubs, but sometimes there are accidents: when she is hunting anthelopes, she could die because they stick their horns to it. When she is hunting buffaloes, she could fall to the ground and the heavy animals crush her. If the mum dies... the cubs couldn´t survive.
- 7. But they manage to survive
