- 2. INTRODOCTION Maintaining good student behavior requires a combination of consequence, intervention strategies, and communication . Decide ahead of time the consequence for appropriate and inappropriate behavior in your classroom , and communication these to your student. Plan specific intervention strategies to use when students drift of-task during the lesson . Before addressing any misbehavior ,consider the possible motivation of students behavior and the ultimate goals you hold for yourself and your students
- 3. Objective At the end of this lesson future teachers will be able to maintaining good students behavior while teaching .
- 4. Positive ,negative or corrective your choices of consequences and of immediate intervention strategies must be based on your belief about the root cause of the behavior and on your goals for yourself and your students. Positive consequence It may help spark initial motivation ; and tangible reward paired with encouraging praise can help students become intrinsically motivated. Negative consequence May be needed to discourage violence of some role Corrective consequence Teaching hoe, when and /or why may best correct the misbehavior ,especially if misbehavior stems from ignorance or poor self-monitoring skills.
- 5. Goals 1. To help you develop and implement effective classroom consequence including :Positive, negative and corrective , in order to encourage and maintain students adherence to classroom rule and procedures 2. To provide you with a hierarchy of appropriate intervention strategies .

Guidelines for consequences A consequence is a related result of a previous act, and it can be either positive (incentive/reward),negative(deterrents/penalties),or corrective(formulated teaching plans). As you think about consequences . Some things to keep in mind 1.Choose your battle. 2.Practice,practice,practice. 3.Consider students differences. 4.K.I.S.S. 5.Consider what is appropriate. 6.Teach rather than punish .
- 7. Positive consequence A positive consequence is a desired consequence that fallows a behavior and serves to increase or maintain that behavior . That are four type of positive consequence 1.symbols 2.Recognition 3.actrivities 4.Matterial incentives
- 8. Symbols Happy face Stars Letters grade and numerical scores Stickers with appealing designs
- 9. Recognition Involve some way of giving attention to students such as Certificate for improving good behavior Super star of the week. Good workers award. Good attendance. Achievement and improvement. Good conduct.
- 10. Activities Permit or arrange for students to do something special or enjoyable is an activities reward like: Free reading time Visit to the school library Computer time
- 11. Material incentives Material incentives are objective of a value to students such as: Food Pencil or eraser Classroom material Games Toys Books
- 12. A word about negative consequence A negative consequence is an undesired action or event that fallow a behavior and serves to decrease it. Ten common negative consequence 1.Loss of privilege 3.Fines or write-off 2.Chek or demerit system 4.Restitution 5.Confiscation 6.Time out 7.Detention after school 8.In-school suspension 9.Refferal to principal 10.Reduction in score or grade
