- 4. MAIN WORK •To assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education and teacher education.

OBJECTIVES • To launch, organize and strengthen research works in various aspects of education. • Act as a clearing house for ideas and information in matters related to school education. • To arrange for pre-service and in-service training at the higher level. • To provide guidance and counseling services on large scale.
- 9. • To establish a National Institute of Education and manage for the development of research and higher training for educational administration and teachers. • To publish necessary textbooks, journals and other literature for achieving the objectives. • To organize extension centers in training institutes with the cooperation of state governments and extend facilities pertaining to new methods and technologies among them.
- 10. CURRICULUM • CBSE board and some state boards schools such as UP Board, MP Board, Gujarat Board, Bihar, Uttarakhand and many other state boards schools follow the curriculum & textbooks prescribed by NCERT.
