Sannsynligvis går du allerede med en dings i lomma som kan både oppdage og fungere som en iBeacon. I denne lyntalen gir vi deg en rask innføring i teknologien, og viser deg hvordan du enkelt selv kan sette opp en iBeacon og lese den med din smarttelefon.
Denne lyntalen vil forsøke å gi tilhørerne svar på spørsmålene “hva”, “hvorfor” og “hvordan” rundt Apples iBeacon-protokoll. Apple reklamerer selv med iBeacon som en teknologi for å utvide lokasjonstjenestene i iOS, og har allerede begynt å bruke den i sine butikker. Med iBeacon kan man utvikle inndørs lokasjonsbaserte tjenester med stor grad av presisjon, og anvendelsene strekker seg fra varehandel til automatisering av hjemmet. Vi skal i tillegg til å fortelle hvordan teknologien fungerer, fortelle om eksisterende anvendelsesområder og skissere noen fremtidige.
Vi skal vise deg noe av den hardwaren for iBeacon som finnes i dag, samt fortelle deg hvordan du kan bruke smartelefonen din som iBeacon til testing og utvikling. Videre skal vi fortelle litt om noen av de ulike leverandørene av både dingser og rammeverk, og vår erfaring med dem. Vi vil også gi en live demo av både muligheter og begrensninger med iBeacon. Til slutt vil vi gjerne vise hvor lite kode som skal til for at du selv kan komme i gang, og vi håper dermed å inspirere deg til å dra hjem og lage noe kult!
