 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what
good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said
unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one,
that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandments.
 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said,Thou shalt do no murder,
Thou shalt not commit adultery,Thou shalt not steal,Thou shalt
not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20The young man saith
unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack
I yet?
 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou
hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:
and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that
saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Matt 19:16-22 (KJV)
3
 23Then said Jesus unto his disciples,Verily I say unto you,
That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of
heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel
to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to
enter into the kingdom of God.
 25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly
amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,With men
this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Matt 19:23-26 (KJV)
4
 27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we
have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have
therefore?
 28 And Jesus said unto them,Verily I say unto you,That ye
which have followed me, in the regeneration when the
Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall
sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren,
or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or
lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold,
and shall inherit everlasting life.
 30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be
first.
 Matt 19:27-30 (KJV)
5
1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an
householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers
into his vineyard. 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for
a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle
in the marketplace, 4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the
vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you.And they went
their way.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others
standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day
idle? 7They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith
unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right,
that shall ye receive. Matt 20:1-7 (KJV)
6
 Third hour
 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men,
out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was
noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were
confounded, because that every man heard them speak in
his own language.
 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying
one to another,What meaneth this? 13 Others mocking
said,These men are full of new wine. 14 But Peter,
standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said
unto them,Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at
Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my
words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose,
seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
 Acts 2:5-15 (KJV)
7
 Sixth hour
 9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew
nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to
pray about the sixth hour: 10 And he became very hungry,
and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell
into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain
vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet
knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the
earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of
the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill,
and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never
eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the
voice spake unto him again the second time, What God
hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Acts 10:9-15
(KJV) 8
 Ninth hour
 1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a
centurion of the band called the Italian band, 2 A devout
man, and one that feared God with all his house, which
gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the
day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto
him, Cornelius. 4 And when he looked on him, he was
afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him,
Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial
before God. Acts 10:1-4 (KJV)
9
8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his
steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning
from the last unto the first. 9 And when they came that were hired
about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have
received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the
goodman of the house, 12 Saying,These last have wrought but
one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have
borne the burden and heat of the day.
13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no
wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14Take that
thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto
thee. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is
thine eye evil, because I am good?
16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but
few chosen.
Matt 20:8-16 (KJV) 10
20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping
him, and desiring a certain thing of him. 21 And he said unto her,What wilt thou?
She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right
hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
22 But Jesus answered and said,Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the
cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized
with? They say unto him,We are able. 23 And he saith unto them,Ye shall drink
indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but
to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to
them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two
brethren.
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said,Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles
exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon
them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him
be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your
servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to
give his life a ransom for many. Matt 20:20-28 (KJV)
11
28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he
came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my
vineyard. 29 He answered and said, I will not: but
afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he
answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say
unto him,The first. Jesus saith unto them,Verily I say unto
you,That the publicans and the harlots go into the
kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and
ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots
believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not
afterward, that ye might believe him.
Matt 21:28-32 (KJV)
12
33 Hear another parable:There was a certain householder, which
planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a
winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen,
and went into a far country:
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to
the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. 35 And
the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed
another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did
unto them likewise. 37 But last of all he sent unto them his son,
saying,They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among
themselves,This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize
on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him, and cast him out of
the vineyard, and slew him.
Matt 21:33-39 (KJV)
13
14
40When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do
unto those husbandmen? 41They say unto him, He will miserably
destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other
husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures,The
stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of
the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43Therefore say I unto you,The kingdom of God shall be taken from
you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And
whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on
whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables,
they perceived that he spake of them. 46 But when they sought to
lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took
him for a prophet.
Matt 21:40-46 (KJV)
15
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every
branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every
branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth
more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4
Abide in me, and I in you.As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in
him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do
nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch,
and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire,
and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye
will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified,
that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
John 15:1-8 (KJV)
16
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my
love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love;
even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his
love. 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might
remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12This is my commandment,That ye love one another, as I have
loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay
down his life for his friends. 14Ye are my friends, if ye do
whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not
what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that
I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16Ye have
not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye
should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may
give it you. 17These things I command you, that ye love one
another.
John 15:9-17 (KJV) 17

Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him,We are able. 23 And he saith unto them,Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. 24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren. 25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said,Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matt 20:20-28 (KJV) 11
  • 12. 28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. 29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. 30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. 31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him,The first. Jesus saith unto them,Verily I say unto you,That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. Matt 21:28-32 (KJV) 12
  • 13. 33 Hear another parable:There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. 35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. 37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying,They will reverence my son. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves,This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. Matt 21:33-39 (KJV) 13

  • 15. 40When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? 41They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. 42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures,The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43Therefore say I unto you,The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet. Matt 21:40-46 (KJV) 15
  • 16. 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you.As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:1-8 (KJV) 16
  • 17. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12This is my commandment,That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17These things I command you, that ye love one another. John 15:9-17 (KJV) 17
