what is Power BI ??
 Power BI is a business analytics service provided by
Microsoft.
 By using power bi service end users can create
reports and dashboards by themselves, without
having to depend on technology developers.

Aggregation functions
These functions work only
on numeric columns, and
generally can aggregate only
one column at a time.

1) SUM(<COLOUM>)

2) SUM(<TABLE>,<EXPRESSION>)
--RETURN THE SUM OF EXPRESSION EVALUATED FOR EACH ROW IN THE TABLE
EX: SUM(FILTER(INTERNETSALES,[INTERNETSALES[SALESTERRITORYID]=5),[FREIGHT])
3) COUNT(<COLOUM>)
--THE COUNT FUNCTION COUNTS THE NUMBER OF CELLS IN A COLUMN THAT CONTAIN NUMBERS
(DATES,TEXT).
EX: COUNT([SHIPDATE])
4) DISTINCTCOUNT(<COLOUM>)
--THE DISTINCTCOUNT FUNCTION COUNTS THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT CELLS IN A COLUMN OF NUMBERS.
EX: =DISTINCTCOUNT(RESELLERSALES_USD[SALESORDERNUMBER])

Publishing & Scheduling the power bi reports
1.Publish the .pbix file from power bi desktop to power bi service and the path for checking
the published report is “ https://msit.powerbi.com”
2.Giving access to verify the reports for particular users by “Workspace & groups”.
3.Scheduling the reports for daily,weekly bases and send the reports to users through
emails.

Power BI Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages:
1. The free version reduces acquisition barriers.
2. The DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) scripting language is a relatively simple construct used to create
calculated columns and measures. It's similar to Excel, although while Excel is cell based, DAX is column
based.
3. The dashboard visualizations are best in class and continually updated from the community.
Disadvantages:
1. Dashboards and reports can only be shared with users who have the same email domains or email
domains listed with your Office 365 tenant.
2.Search for long list in slicers is not visible .
