Idea planning/concept
First we had the idea of an asthma attack with internal
monologue to show the audience what happens in the
mind of someone that suffers from it.
When gathering sounds we noticed that the sounds we
gathered wouldn’t work for the idea we had.
However it did work well for another concept, a horror
scene.
We then decided to change the original idea and create a
short horror film
The concept of this is to film it from the killers POV, this is
because we wanted the audience to see that the victim is
also the villain in some cases as we see the motive behind
the killing.
What worked well?
We worked well as a team as we were able to help
each other if one was struggling
Written and verbal communication worked well on this
film as we were always in contact with each other
though social media, messages etc.
The recording schedule worked well as we both knew
the day and time that we were filming, we knew what
we were recording on that certain day, which made it
easier to film and helped with time management.
We was able to expand our skills on Avid and on Pro
Tools in order to get the film that we were intending
to.
What did not work well?
When it came to the editing process we found
that we didn’t have all the footage that we
wanted, but we had enough footage to create the
film as a whole.
Roles
Chloe came up with the original idea but we both expanded on the
idea as a team and thought about the best way to move forward with
the film and what would work better with our idea.
On one day of filming Chloe filmed while Georgia acted- we both
were meant to act in it so we both had the chance to use the camera
but Chloe hurt her knee so couldn’t do what was needed for the
acting, hence why Georgia had to be the villain and the victim
The detailed shots that we were able to film was shot by Georgia so
we had the chance to use the camera equipment.
Took in turns to record the sounds and both listened to them back
and decided whether the sound was good enough or if we had to
record it again to make it perfect.
Both edited the audio and footage together making sure that we both
like the outcome and the film is what we wanted it to be.
Research
For the asthma attack we were going to use a
personal experience to create the sounds.
For research for the new idea of a horror we
watched a wide range of horror films and
analysed how they use camera techniques and
the way they tell the narrative.
For the editing process we researched the best
way to use Avid.
