- 4. •Early Pregnancy refers to female adolescents becoming pregnant between the ages of 13-19. These young females have not yet reached adulthood and the causes of early pregnancy vary greatly. •It is a significant public health concern and social issue worldwide. •Teenage pregnancy can have negative consequences for both the mother and child, including increased risk of maternal and infant mortality, low birth weight, developmental delays, and poverty.
- 5. Causes of Early Pregnancy Lack of information about sexual and reproductive health and rights. Inadequate access to services tailored to young people. Family, community and social pressure to marry. Sexual violence. Child, early and forced marriage, which can be both a cause and a consequence. Lack of education.
