- 2. SELF CONCEPT The first day of the class, Ms. Pang taught us about self-concept. From this lesson, I know myself better than before. In this class, I’ve learned about the behavior and feelings of human. Sometimes, we will mispredict our behavior and feeling. When we are involved in some situations, we kind of lost control or unable to handle it rationally, people who are close to us will know clearly than us, so sometimes advices from others must be concerned. For instance, couple who are in love each another, they will said their love last forever, but the people who beside them likes friends and family will know better than them, as the words said, love is blind. In addition, positive thinking is very important that effect your emotion either happy or sad. No matter how bad the situation is, just positive, it might help us to overcome the difficulty.
- 3. SELF KNOWLEDGE In this lesson, we learned that our thinking is partly controlled and partly automatic. After this class, I realized that mostly we would overestimate things such as plans, times etc. For instance, I thought I can finish my English essay within two hours, but actually, I finished it about four hours. From this case, we can say that, we can’t estimate things correctly and often goes the other ways from our thought. Another topic that I have learned from this lesson is reconstructing our past attitudes. The attitude that I have ten years before and ten years after are difference. Sometimes, our attitude change due to the surroundings. The differences that can be see clearly are the maturity is being increasing. Self – serving bias is the tendency to perceive oneself favourably, means that we will praise ourselves and give reasons when we success; if failure they will not blame themselves but lucks. For example, I get the highest marks in my class for my Biology subject because I work hard for it; I was in bad luck yesterday so I failed my English test.
- 4. VISION In this topic, Visions , is less related to social psychology, but for me it is the most interesting topic, I really enjoyed it. It is about what you observe and focusing on. For me, the most interesting part is the colors. What I have learned is red color is the most attractive color especially when girls wearing red dress or clothes, she will easily attracted boys. From this lesson, it mentions that red colors bring the feelings of strong and active. Personally, I’m agree with that. The things that are in red normally will attract our attention more compare to other color. For examples, traffic light turns red means stop. The new thing that I’ve learned is we will have more appetite if we are having meals in red color surroundings.
