Product
Age and Gender of Target
Audience
 Based on the analysis of the results of the questionnaire given to the
intended audience, the target audience that the magazine is aimed at
would be females, around 17 – 23 years old.
 This is due to the house style of the overall features of the magazine, for
example the front cover using a female model instead of male models.
This would appeal to the target audience as, they could view the model
as a role model, someone that they look up to.
 In terms of the age of the target audience, the genre of the music
featured could have an impact on the age of the audience, therefore
the use of rock music is applied as, this is would appeal to both ends of
the target age.
Ethnicity and Social Class of
Target Audience
 Based on the analysis of the results from the music magazine, the social class
of the target audience would be middle class. This would be due to the price
of the music magazine, as they would be more likely to be able to afford the
magazine. This could be due to part time work, for students or someone just
starting full time work.
 On the other hand, the ethnicity of the target audience would depend on
the items featured in terms of the models featured, for example white
females. This could suggest that the ethnicity of the intended audience would
be mainly of a white, however this would not be the majority as the magazine
is aimed at a wide target audience.

Location/ accessibility of the
media product.
 Based on the analysis of existing music magazines, such as Kerrang! Rock
Sound and NME, the location of where the music magazine can be sold
would be news agents, or major chain supermarkets such as Tesco. This would
mean that for the target audience, the accessibility of the magazine is easier,
therefore meaning that they are more likely to purchase the magazine in this
case.
 In terms of location, the magazine would be available in the UK, as the
distributor of the magazine is a UK company, ensuring the magazine has a
prominent base in the UK. However artists included in the magazine would
also be American as well as British, there are several different bands that
could appeal to the target audience.
