Results of a short Facebook survey

This document summarizes the results of a survey about help-seeking behavior on Facebook. The survey asked 64 random Facebook users questions about questions they have asked on Facebook. It found that the most common types of questions asked were about activities, looking for items, and for opinions. Most people first searched elsewhere like Google before asking on Facebook. The vast majority received answers, and were satisfied with the answers received. Most people found asking questions on Facebook to be useful.

Other results Why people do not ask questions on Facebook They prefer more personal approach, consider FB too public, see no point Searching for help elsewhere 62% of respondents tried to find help in the Internet (Google, Wiki, specific websites) or asking their friends (by phone or e-mail) before turning to FB 38% posted their question straight on FB without previous searching Receiving answers Only 2% have never received any answer for their question 98% received at least one answer Satisfaction with the received answer Most of the people were satisfied with the answer they received Usefulness of asking questions on Facebook 85% find asking questions on FB useful
