In the desert normally people would think
that the animals that live there are snakes or
camels. Actually there are plenty more than
     that. There are Flamingos, Ostriches,
     Meerkat, Roadrunners, Bilby,
     Goannas, Kangaroo Rats, Echidna, Fat
Sand Rat, Red Kangaroo and much more.

Flamingos are one of the deserts most
rarest animals. They have long slim
legs. On an adult their legs are longer
than their body's. They also have
webbed feet to help support them on
mud. They sit down by lying their legs
backwards than sitting down. They
can fly and even swim.

                    www.freedigitalphotos.net
Red kangaroos are the world’s
largest marsupials. The female
kangaroo has only one baby at a
time. Also females are smaller,
lighter and much faster than a male
kangaroos. Male and female
kangaroos are very powerful.

                 www.freedigitalphotos.net
The Desert’s weather most of the time
is very warm and sticky. Some deserts
snow in winter instead of just dropping a
few degrees. When the desert is hot and
sticky that would mean, not many plants
live there.

The Sahara desert is the largest and hottest
desert in the world. Life in the Sahara is very
difficult due to its climate. The normal
temperature in the Sahara is 57.7 degrees
sometimes even higher. Although it is hot in
the day it is freezing cold at night.
Desert’s are every where. Great Sandy, Great
Victoria, Simpson, Gibson, Tanami are the
major Australian deserts, also there is Gobi
desert in China, Thar in India, Namib in SW
Africa, Great Basin in USA and Sahara in north
Africa.
