Stoicism is a school of philosophy focused on self-control and virtue. Stoics believe the universe is governed by a rational logic and people should accept what is outside their control while focusing on self-improvement. The four cardinal virtues of Stoicism are wisdom, temperance, justice, and courage. Marcus Aurelius outlines ten practices for developing self-discipline, including finding one's purpose, relying on self, showing up daily, embracing voluntary hardship, accepting what you can't control, taking responsibility, delaying gratification, ignoring naysayers, and emulating wise role models.
