BUSINESS DOMAIN • The business domain we decided upon is Target pharmacy’s back tagging process. • The back tags allow for prescriptions in the pharmacy to be organized, located when needed, and kept for auditing purposes. • The prescriptions and back tagging process is also practiced for legal purposes. Every prescription that is filled or kept in the pharmacy must have a hard copy for the back tag to be placed upon and filed away. • This process is very critical and must be executed every day but with the process that Target has implemented right now it is very time consuming, inefficient and susceptible to human errors if not executed correctly.

THE PROCESS • We interviewed Christi Heys, who is the manager at Target Pharmacy • We examined the back-tagging prescription process • History of paper prescription documentation • Legal processes involved • How the pharmacy organized and tracked paper prescriptions for auditing purposes • The “HELP” window in the EHR system
- 4. THE PROCESS We examined training documents which were found on the help window of the previous EHR system. This function provides step by step training information to employees on the back tagging process.
- 6. DEMONSTRATION Prescriptions filled within the last month.
- 8. DEMONSTRATION List all of the backtags that were printed with the Brothers Wireless Laser printer.
