In psychology, respondent behavior is behavior learned through classical conditioning. This type of
learning is defined as a way in which one learns to link two or more stimuli while also anticipating
events; or other wise, known as a kind of learning that occurs when a conditioned stimulus is paired
with an unconditioned stimulus. While classical conditioning was accidently discovered by Ivan

the book, the reader believes that the Julius Caesar is the main character and that the whole book

Spillover by David Quammen is most definitely one of the more unique, yet applicable novels I
have read in quite some time. As someone who is interested in attending pharmacy school and

This chapter focuses on Malaria. When Quammen began writing this, he was told to not include
Malaria because it was not zoonotic but vector borne. However, Quammen found that the human

Survival and preservation of humanity are among two important themes in Alexander
Solzhenitsyn s, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. Through the main protagonist, Ivan
Denisovich Shukhov, the audience is transported into the reality of Stalinist repression.
Throughout the novel, Solzhenitsyn makes it clear that freedom is not a cut and dry issue.
Rather, when one is focused on survival and maintaining their dignity, some element(s) of

Many years ago, as many of us must have noticed most websites that were running had plain and
simple web pages with some animation in the form of gif files. Companies like Apple then
broke the ice and came up with elegantly designed websites that looked really engaging and

HTML for web pages and saving them on a server, web developers started to come up with better

When in times of danger, people must often take the actions they see best fit. In The Rattler, the
author depicts a vivid story of a man who has to make a difficult choice while facing a rattlesnake
in the desert. Despite the man seeing a threat in the snake, it is him that becomes a threat to the
other. By using the descriptions of the man, the snake and the specific setting, the author affects the
readerby creating a sense of empathyfor the narrator and sympathy for the snake. With such a
connection, it adds a greater depth to the story for the reader to analyze.
To begin with, the sense of empathy for the man is formed by including his point of view and a
description of his character. One of the first examples of these techniques is when he finds the
snake and states, My first instinct was to let him go his way. From this thought the reader can
tell that the man has no inclination of killing the snake at first and did not see him as any sort of

investigate the effect of the length of a wire on its resistance. Resistance is the measure of how
easy it is for current to flow through a wire. Current is the rate of flow of charge through a

When I first set out for the Blue Trail I did not know what to expect. I ve been on several trails
before that were infested with overgrowth and never found them amusing, so what s so special
about this one?
Finding the trail wasn t particularly difficult, since I knew the campus from its sustainable farm to
the music building overlooking its own lawn and pond; however, once I got there I was surprised.
Right on the edge of the road, the forest had muses all around to draw inspiration from. I found
myself transfixed by every little squirrel that would not run away from me, since I was in their

The poem Mezzo Cammin by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow explains his regretful life and his
reasoning at why he didn t live it to its full potential and how he looks at his past. It then looks to
his future as being near and bearing a huge weight down on him. The way Longfellow talks about
his life is depressing. He doesn t speak of the good accomplishments, only the things he hasn t done

He describes it strangely, And hear above me on the autumnal blast The cataract of Death far
thundering from the heights. These lines are very open ended and in one way he could be
speaking of death as far away by the way he describes the thundering waterfall very high up. The
reference to height could mean its at a good distance that he can see it, but its still far away. It
could also mean he has more of his life to live up to and his regretful past doesn t mean much to
him anymore because he has his future to look forward to as he is on his metaphorical hill of
life. In another view, he could be describing death as being right around the corner and him
looking right at it when he describes the waterfall. You could look at it as him having a life
threatening disease and him knowing his death is coming soon, which could also describe the
way he views his past full of regret. If he knew the end is coming soon and he doesn t believe he
fully lived his life to how he wishes, the regret is understandable and the cataract of death makes
sense in this point of view. Overall, this poem shows the past, present, and future of the writer. His
life is full of regret at points and then seems hopeful in others. This poem could be viewed in
many ways but mostly you understand it as a man who wishes he could change his past because
he knows his future is near and his life will soon be coming to an
