The water cycle has four main stages: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. Evaporation occurs when the sun heats water, turning it into vapor or steam. Condensation happens when water vapor in the air cools and forms clouds. Precipitation is when clouds become too heavy and water falls back to earth as rain, snow, or hail. Finally, collection refers to water running into bodies of water or soaking into the ground to complete the cycle.
