The Tinguian or Itneg people are a Philippine tribe located in the mountain province of Abra in northwestern Luzon. While distinct from the neighboring Igorot tribe, intermarriage between the two groups has become common. Unlike the nearby Ilocano people, the Itneg were not Christianized by the Spaniards and are still considered a "pagan" tribe. The Itneg call themselves by that name, while outsiders call them Tinguian. The men are known for their large traditional hats and for hunting with blowguns. Their diet involves chickens, fish, deer, pigs, and carabao.
