Understanding
IMPORT PROCESS
• Pre-alert of shipment details.
• Check Master B/L and House Bill of Lading tally.
• Check with Liner agent on ETA of vessel and inform the consignee.
• Obtain Import general manifest no. (IGM), from the shipping line
• Issue cargo arrival notice (CAN) cum Freight invoice to the
consignee.
• Inform shipping line to move the containers to the designated off
dock CFS after checking with the CHA (custom house agent).
• To issue release order to custom house agent after collection of
duly discharged original house bill of lading.
EXPORT PROCESS
• All concern documents from shipper.
• Survey and booking to carrier.
• Stuffing of goods and then move to ICD followed by custom
clearance.
• Obtain Export general manifest no. (EGM), from the shipping line
• Generate B/L or AWB accordingly.
• Inform carrier to load the containers in the vessel or airplane.
• Send pre-alert to overseas agent.
