What have you learned from
your audience feedback?
Abbie Topping
Who we asked
• After creating our music video and the ancillary
texts, we created a questionnaire for our
audience to give use feedback. We chose people
of our target audience 16-25 year olds, due to the
fact it will associate more with this age group as
they are more likely to go out and party to dance
tracks. However, due to asking members of our
sixth form, we had limitations as we only had 16-
18 year olds present.
• This is so we could find out good and bad points
of each project we produced
Questionnaires and Graphs
• We created these, due to the fact it would be
simple for our peers to write answers down.
We also sat them down all together to watch
music video within the media suite. We
decided to do a focus group as we felt we
could all participate in our feedback.
Some questionnaires...

Graphs
• After we conducted another questionnaire
asking 20 people the questions below, you can
see the results represented in pie chart forms.
Reflection: Poster
• Feedback provided me with a good insight into the
improvements that could have been made to my media
products. James comments on the layout of the poster
saying that more information should have been
included rather than repeating slush management
twice, I feel he has made a valid point. However, I
personally believe that posters need to be to the point.
• It has also shown me the colours work great together
creating a vibrancy needed for posters to catch peoples
eyes, however it could perhaps be too colourful
distracting people from the information provided.
Digipak
• Many members who we got feedback from thought the
Digipak worked well and linked the poster and it
together. However they thought the front of the
Digipak did not match well with the rest. I do agree
with this point, however we wanted to create a link
with the poster itself. We also found that some wanted
the writing style and colour to match with the poster if
we were wanting a link between the two. Yet we
wanted the track list to stand out.
• However we also had many positive comments. They
thought it was a professional look overall with the
copyright details and sponsors.
Music video
• Overall, they thought it was a great piece of
work, for example the cuts were fast and
fitted in with the music even when it slowed
down.
• Yet some improvements could be made: The
camera quality faded when different cameras
were used from a distance, small group of
people better if there were more, slightly
repetitive etc...
My thoughts
• I am really pleased with the feedback as it gave me insights into
what we can improve for next time. I do agree with some of the
comments to which I can improve my music video, Digipak and
poster.
• I have found that different opinions for my music video provided by
the group of peers we asked where different and contradicted one
another. This is simply because you cannot please everyone!
However they all seemed to enjoy watching the music video which
is what we wanted to create; an enjoyable video to which you felt
involved in watching and was different to most music videos with a
narrative.
• Overall I have learnt a great deal from the feedback provided to me.
If I were to conduct this project again I would definitely use better
equipment to get a better quality of images to make it look more
professional.
