This was our first time outsourcing a project and it was done very well. AddWeb Solution delivered on time and within a very tight budget. The final solution works as it's supposed to.

Start with a smaller proof of concept (POC) so that if it fails, it fails fast. Don’t extend too much functionality at the same time.

I am the founder of the company and our solution is to provide curriculum aligned and specific practice questions for Georgia based school students. The practice questions will be in an online tool so the parents do not have to print anything nor check the answers.

We hired AddWeb to help design, develop and do digital marketing for our company. Our goal was to have a fully functional online web app for the users and to create awareness via the digital marketing.

I searched online for web app developers and after interviewing about 8 to 10 different vendors, I decided to go with AddWeb. The price point, experience and on-point communications were the key deciding factors.

A website using WordPress and a web app using Laravel on the AWS platform.

Architect and the lead developer were the main points of contact. But there were at least 3-4 developers and 1 UX person who were in meetings at some time or other.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We will be launching our digital campaign soon... looking for a wide outreach and increasing subscriptions soon.

We had daily stand-ups for 5 to 15 mins each day. Skype was used for the communication and video/audio conferencing. GitHub was used for capturing requirements as issues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The owner is easily accessible and willing to listen to what we need. The team is knowledgeable and hard working. The web app development is coming along very well. There were hiccups but the team was willing to help figure things out. Communication is very quick and the team is easily reachable/accessible.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Planning for backups in case key developers not available would help and reduce delays.

Our company provides energy assessments/audits and weatherization. I am an auditor. We perform test that discover the "leaky" areas in your home. We also check conditions of the combustion appliance zone.

The goals were simple- using Drupal 8, develop a theme and all associated functionality to mirror our design agency's' and content architect's site design and layout.

We selected this vendor years ago as a highly rated, cost effective Drupal development agency, at the time through Freelancer.com.

AddWeb organized, structured, developed, and configured a full Drupal 8 website, front-end, back-end, and administrative interfaces. This included advanced search, rendering, and fully customizable responsive layouts.

What was the team composition?

The team was made up of a number of people- including backend and frontend developers, project manager, technical project manager, QA, and account lead.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

So far, we have received very positive feedback on the new website, layout, design, and functionality.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

AddWeb did a great job of helping build out the project, by reviewing our layout, designs, and content architecture- they were able to put together a comprehensive project plan, identify milestones and timelines in a useful way for us and our client.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

AddWeb's maturity over the last 4-5 years and flexibility to accommodate their clients are the most impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We have been quite happy with AddWeb- the only shortcoming in our last engagement was probably in the Bug Fix category. In their eagerness to respond quickly and fix open bugs and issues expeditiously- some got closed before the entire bug was completed. However, after brought to light and re-opening, AddWeb still went back and completed all bug tickets satisfactorily.

To program bespoke inclusions of a major conceptual publishing milestone that allows tiny teams to manifest huge projects that are easy to run and maintain. The project utilised intranet, protected extranet and internet that repeatedly and incrementally explored the arena of how given limited bandwidth we could produce interactive journeys with powerful engines written which have been conceptualised and maintained on an ongoing basis through the duration of the project.

The project ran from 2009 to 2017 and did not include any freelancers with all work done in house with AddWeb Solution contracted for our ideas to manifest a powerful solution with bespoke engines written to carry out a variety of tasks

The goal was to produce a state of the art concept designed by us that allowed powerful streamlined navigation utilising a frame work that provided a protected environment for developing new ideas of how the web could evolve and manifest in the future...

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project first began privately as a project in learning and applying knowledge to how streamlined user journeys can give a project personality... Some would describe that this kind of project on the internet is more about customer experience. It considers the user of my products to experience an interactive toy that utilises a whole gamut of multimedia that manifest as a digital manifestation of an interactive resource that is dynamic and timely.

Saurabh Dhariwal ran the project at AddWeb Solution utilising agile methodologies and I am also an agile practice exponent and together we made the project flow...

What did you find most impressive about this company?

One stop solution. I have been approached many times but will remain steadfast in using AddWeb Solution on an ongoing basis in my projects as and when required...

None. This is a team that is as good as can be given current environment of information technology implementation. Timely, diligent, accommodating and powerful. Like any tool - it is only as good as the artisan expressing his art... :-)

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our sales cycle is very long, so it’s difficult to attribute success to any one element of our business. However, we’ve gotten a variety of compliments on the site’s design. We’re very happy with their work internally.

How did AddWeb Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re an American company and they’re based in India, so there were some differences in how we communicate around requirements. There were a few challenges that came along with this, but we were able to work through them and build the site to our specifications. We used GitHub for task management and primarily communicated via Skype. We also used Zoom for screen sharing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team was always transparent in what they were working on. We also really appreciated their use of GitHub, which allowed us to follow along with progress and check quality in real time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their estimation for timelines around certain aspects of the project were sometimes high, but we discussed it and they immediately improved.

Make sure to provide as much detail as possible before engaging them.

Addweb Solutions continued the development of my WordPress website. They took it to where I wanted it to be, identifying the flaws in the previous team's work and putting new solutions in place. It was a very good experience. Even though I'm not a developer, I could get critical information from them. They always told me when an approach would not work well. Addweb Solutions is proactive in bringing out solutions, instead of waiting for the client to tell them everything.

We worked on a second project which involved the development of our website for training courses, thephotoacademy.com. We started the second version from scratch, using Drupal.

They were referred to me by a friend and colleague in Brussels. He worked with Addweb Solutions on a regular basis and they were very efficient compared to some other development companies, so I contacted them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

For our initial WordPress project, Addweb Solutions had a low hourly rate. The total development cost was under $10,000 for that. For the second project, the cost was between $10,000-50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December of 2015. We still have ongoing projects for which we've kept two fulltime resources.

Could you share any feedback from this engagement?

Addweb Solutions brought my WordPress site to a functional version. It's set to be taken live within a few days, and I'm excited about it. I don’t have any metrics yet, but I’m happy with the work they’ve done.

How did Addweb Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Timelines were discussed precisely in the beginning and their time estimation was very good. We collaborate through GitHub and Skype. Back-and-forth exchanges with them are always very clear.

What distinguishes Addweb Solutions from other providers?

Their technical skills set them apart. Addweb Solutions has identified many problems and found solutions for my sites, using custom code. A friend who is knowledgeable about web coding looked at their work and thought that it was very good.

Their Chief Technology Officer is very experienced, and compared to our previous team, they are very structured.

I have several client projects which I can't handle on my own due to lack of time. I decided to reach out to AddWeb Solutions.

We initially worked on a feature enhancement project for a real estate client. The client had several issues which other agencies weren't able to fix. I thought it would be the perfect project to collaborate with AddWeb Solutions. Once it's finished, I plan on working on other projects with them.

They have worked on various module configurations, as well as some custom programming for gluing the platform together. It features a system through which users can bookmark apartments. It didn't work out-of-the-box with Drupal, so it required some custom coding.

They're now working on social media elements, including login functionalities and Twitter integration. AddWeb Solution also worked on some small CSS and JavaScript fixes. 

How did you come to work with AddWeb Solution?

I attended DrupalCon Asia in Mumbai, in February of 2016. I was looking for outsourcing partners and found that most developers were large companies which catered for bigger projects of $50,000 or above, which was not quite the budget that I had. I met some freelancers, but I thought that it would be better to at least have access to a small team of professionals with different specializations. I met AddWeb Solution's principal and had a nice conversation with him. He didn't push to become a partner and I didn't mention the project for which I needed help until three days later. We simply got along well, went to a party together and got to know each other. At the end of the conference, I asked if he would be willing to work with a smaller partner and he told me that that was their specialization. They had small partners in the US, so someone like myself would be a natural fit. I visited their office in order to get more information about their work process and the conditions of their staff. I didn't want to work with a sweatshop-like company. They were very kind and it was pleasant to talk to them.

The budget for our initial project has been set at $10,000 in order to get an impression of their quality level. Upcoming projects will be closer to $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I initially met with AddWeb Solution in mid-February, 2016. Our collaboration started in March. If the collaboration works out, I plan on assigning them bigger projects. The work is open-ended.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

I've had experience with another agency from Ukraine, as well as with a freelancer from Romania. AddWeb Solution was successful with tasks that my previous partners could not accomplish. They understood the problem and fixed it, even though it took a bit longer than I expected. I am happy that they managed to do it nevertheless. I was given several approaches and we decided on the best one. The result was good and I have nothing to complain about.

How did AddWeb Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication was good. I think that meeting them personally has helped because I'm not very comfortable with talking to people that I've only met through the internet. Having a personal relationship was important.

Is there anything AddWeb Solution could have improved or done differently?

Quality assurance could be improved. I identified glitches for assignments which they delivered, so we needed additional back-and-forth sessions. It wasn't a very serious problem. It's a learning process for AddWeb Solution as well. They usually work with end-clients who don't have the necessary technical expertise in order to understand the work. It's possible that they work differently with others, but I wanted to see AddWeb Solution's process. Getting up-to-speed with what they were doing took some time and any glitches that I identified have added to that.
