Implement Play Content discovery experiences to enhance visibility of your content on the Play Store. By integrating with Play Content, apps can showcase their digital offerings through various programs like Promo Content or Play Shorts, helping users discover relevant content more effectively.
Required implementation
To qualify for AEP, your app must fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Permit Play access to an existing Google feed, such as media, sports, or social feeds. For avoidance of doubt, Play must comply with any content restrictions otherwise enforced on the feed.
- Provide at least 2 quality-approved items per quarter across active Apps content programs, including Play Shorts, Promo Content, Content Samples, Immersive Header, or YouTube playlists. Submissions must meet specific technical and quality guidelines for the chosen content type (for example, aspect ratio, resolution, and absence of restricted content).
Guideline applicability
This requirement applies to all apps that want to qualify for AEP on the phone, tablet, foldable, and desktop.
Exemptions
The following exemptions apply for this guideline:
- Apps that don't meet the Google Play Premium growth tools eligibility criteria.
- Apps that don't produce material in-app content, events, and promotions, such as tools, utilities, weather, or navigation.
- Apps intended for messaging, communications, chat, or live streaming.
