Inspiration

Many people and their loved ones have lost their lives to cancer. Still, many people neglect cancer and aren’t able to find nearby cancer treatment in urgent situations. This inspired us to build this project.

What it does

This project allows people to find nearby cancer treatment clinics anywhere in the world. This project also has translations in spanish and english.

How we built it

Care Connect is a responsive, single-page cancer support platform built with React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn-ui. It integrates Google Maps API for location-based searches, allowing users to find nearby treatment centers, support groups, and financial aid services within a chosen radius. The app offers multilingual support, AI-powered filtering, favorites with local storage, emergency resource access, and an OpenAI-powered chat widget for personalized help. Navigation is handled with React Router, data fetching with TanStack Query, and accessibility features are implemented throughout.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into included problems while using ai since it made mistakes in the code. Also, making sure all the functions of the project were working properly as it was hard to integrate the features which gave the ai chatbot context to our app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making this project available to everyone and also anywhere in the world. We are also proud of making this project contain many functions and the simplicity of the project and making sure its easy to use.

What we learned

We learned how to work together efficiently on this project with all of our ideas implemented into one.

What's next for CareConnect

We want to explain careconnect to have support for detailed explanations of clinical trials and clarity
