Inspiration
Basketball highlights and momentum insights are typically created after the game leaving coaches, content creators and fans missing the most exciting moments. We wanted to bring the excitement of live analysis to everyone, giving teams, fans and media instant access to clutch plays and momentum shifts. ClutchVision AI was born from the idea of merging sports culture with real-time AI analytics.
What it does
ClutchVision AI analyzes basketball games in real time to automatically detect the top highlights, identify momentum swings and generate broadcast-ready insights. Users can upload or stream a game, view a live timeline of exciting events, click highlights to replay and read AI-generated summaries explaining why each moment matters all through an intuitive, sports-inspired dashboard.
How I built it
I used HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the frontend, creating real-time audio and motion signal processing to detect crowd noise spikes and player movement intensity. PHP handles backend API requests, while MySQL stores structured game and event data. Finally, generative AI (Google Gemini / Antigravity) ranks highlights, labels them, detects momentum shifts and generates professional game summaries. The system is fully hosted and accessible via https://clutchvision.namzglobal.com
Challenges I ran into
Tuning excitement scores accurately so AI selects the truly “clutch” moments Preventing AI hallucination while generating highlight labels and momentum explanations Making real-time video and audio processing lightweight enough to run smoothly in the browser
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
A fully live, hosted MVP accessible online Real-time detection of top highlights and momentum shifts AI-generated broadcast-ready summaries of games A clean, judge-friendly dashboard that merges sports culture with tech innovation
What I learned
Even without heavy AI models, structured event data and smart signal processing can produce powerful real-time insights Execution and presentation are just as important as the code itself in hackathons Designing for both utility and culture significantly improves user engagement and judges’ perception
What's next for ClutchVision AI
Live-stream support for real-time game analysis Player-specific analytics and highlight tracking Automated social media-ready clips with AI captions Broadcaster overlays for momentum insights League-wide dashboards for season-level excitement tracking
