Rent-a-ware

Inspiration

Inspired by the sharing economy made possible my modern communications, and the desire to minimize wastage and maximize use of products in this modern consumerist society.

What it does

This webapp enables users to post various items they have for rent (ie. sports equipment, office spaces, educational materials, etc.)

How we built it

With great effort. Vue, Bulma, MongoDB, express

Challenges we ran into

This project is inherently large scale, with many components required: ie. chat system, event-driven slot system, listings, search, user databases.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We polished our skills on web design and database management, and we explored a new javascript framework: Vue.

What we learned

We learnt how to prioritize the big and more important components over sweating over small details, as this school internal hackathon was shorter than most external hackathons hosted by universities.
