Work Setup

Setup script for a new work environment

Download contents:

curl -fsSL https://github.com/andre-lameirinhas/work-setup/archive/master.tar.gz | tar -xz

Go into the downloaded folder:

cd work-setup-master

Run setup:

make setup

After the installation script finishes successfully, execute these steps:

• In Opera Browser
  • Switch search engine to DuckDuckGo
  • Add Bitwarden extension
  • Enable VPN
• Setup MeetingBar with your calendar
• In Rectangle
  • Use the Rectangle keybindings, not the Spectacle ones
• In Raycast
  • Add extensions
    • Toothpick
    • Kill Process
    • Spotify Player
    • Coffee
    • Mole
    • Brew
  • Set the hotkey to ⌘+Space (takes over from Spotlight)
    • System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts… → Spotlight → uncheck "Show Spotlight search" (Raycast usually offers to do this for you)
    • Raycast → Preferences → General → Raycast Hotkey → record ⌘+Space

To test your setup, run:

make test

To also test the optional language installs (go, php, python, ruby):

make test-all

Prevents computer from going to sleep. coffee -h for available commands.

Upgrades brew packages and keeps a log in $HOME/brew_upgrade.log. Runs every day at 8am.

Stores colors to be used in scripts.
