i am trying to install CLI on my Windows 10. I tried both installer and binary file, however, it is not working as expected. The installation finishes successfully but whenever i try the "cf" or "cf --help" commands on the command prompt i get the following message
"mkdir N:: The system cannot find the path specified. FAILED"
I also tried executing the .exe files in the Cloud Foundry folder. In this case a black windows pops up and shut down inmediately.

Hi @dseail , did you see this one : cloudfoundry/cli#1748
And for windows installations, you can try chocolatey package manager as well.
Open powershell in an admin mode. Right click and open as admin ( assuming you have access to do so)
type choco install cloudfoundry-cli
If there is an issue with the path being set, chocolatey usually takes care of it and should give you any errors in the logs there itself around access or permissions.
@quixoticmonk Thanks for making that suggestion. I hope it helps.
@dseail In general, the docs repos are not the best way to get technical support. In general, for help with open-source Cloud Foundry, I suggest querying one of the CF mailing lists or Stack Overflow.
I also contacted the cf CLI team and they took a look too:
Update: seems like this issue is related to the ability of the cf executable to write to CF_HOME (as was suggested by the other commenters on the issue). It may be worth adding a note about this to the CF CLI github page (https://github.com/cloudfoundry/cli#known-issues) but I doubt we need to update the actual docs as this seems fairly uncommon. I’ll suggest this to the team.

Indeed. The statement SET HOMEDRIVE=C: solved it out
Thanks a lot!
