This PR

  • performs maintenance by moving notes belonging to searching functions to "below the fold" and partially addresses Capitalizing RFC 2119 words like SHOULD #397 by marking in bold applicable RFC 2119 keywords.
  • adds consistent axis behavior (see sorting and utility functions).
