Slow Capital and the Slow Movement

I had blogged about the Slow Web article by Jack Cheng just recently.

Today I saw this article, Slow Capital, by "A VC" @fredwilson, via a link in one of his recent MBA Mondays posts, on Sustainability.

This is the Wikipedia article on the Slow Movement.

I read about this concept via recent Etsy-related posts that I tweeted today. Good concept. Etsy has become one.

BetterPlace & Renault launch first “unlimited mileage” electric car in Europe

By Vasudev Ram - www.dancingbison.com

Better Place and Renault launch Fluence Z.E., the first "unlimited mileage" electric car together with innovative eMobility packages, in Europe's first Better Place Center:

(It's not really literally unlimited mileage; instead, what they are doing is providing much better and more widely and easily available infrastructure for users to recharge or swap the cars' batteries, since short battery life (i.e. how much you can drive on a single charge) has been one of the main reasons for slow adoption of electric vehicles.)

The company makes intensive use of software to facilitate the charging and other infrastructure for the electric cars.

The BetterPlace leadership team:

Shai Agassi, Founder and CEO, was a senior executive at SAP earlier, and was in the running to become the next CEO of SAP, as per an article I read.
